SPAC POP Screeding

SPAC pop screeding provides a smooth layer on plastered wall to prepare for painting.

Group 67

Technical Specifications

Description

This is a normal screeding paint for levelling or screeding walls to achieve a smooth surface before paint application. There is need to regulate the amount of filming agent or binder during mixture before use to allow air pores which reduces the risk of delamination and possible seperation of final wall finish. (USE SPAC DIRECT SCREEDING PRODUCT TO AVOID THIS ERROR IN MIXING). This is very common in silky or high sheen wall finish. The level of in-can and dry film preservative used during manufacture ensures adequate protection against bacteria and mold attack.

Preparation Of Plastered Walls And Porous Surface For Painting

powdery / dirty / chalky surfaces

All surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned down by removing loose flakes, powder and defective materials like grease and dirts. It is important to ensure the surface are thoroughly dried out and the surface made firm. Apply approved filler (Spac Screeding) as a masonry sealer and be allowed to dry before painting surfaces with final coatings.

leakages / cracks / damp / structural defects

All defects must be rectified and made good by necessary redesign and civil work. Use of suitable hard plaster, sand/cement mix and approved fillers (SPAC Direct Screeding) as appropriate are recommended. All leaking pipes, walls and exposed surfaces should be subjected to necessary redesign and civil works. All nibs should be removed and all surface be allowed to dry out before application of paint.

infected surface due to efflorescence / fungi / algae / mold

Surfaces that are infected by the above should be cleaned by removing the defects and brushing vigorously until all defects are removed. The surfaces should then be washed with bleach or other suitable biocidals and allowed to dry. Apply Spac Direct Screeding before painting.
